LONGEVITY TIPS
- Avoid parking your car in the sun. Use covered parking or shade whenever possible. Intense sunlight will cause untreated vinyl roofs, dashboards, and upholstery to crack. Consider tinting the windows in states where it is permissible.
- If it is necessary to park your car in the sun for an extended time, use a cotton car cover. This will minimize heat damage to the interior, vinyl roof, and paint.
- Avoid car washes with harsh soap or brushes that could damage a vinyl roof. Instead, wash the roof by hand with a mild detergent.
- Keep your windows open slightly in hot weather to prevent heat buildup inside the car. This will minimize damage to the seats, dashboard, and headliner.
- When cleaning stains from cloth or vinyl upholstery, test the cleaner in a hidden area before actually using it. If the cleaner changes the fabric's color or texture, consider not using it and finding another.
- If a silicone-based preservative is accidentally smeared on your windshield when servicing the vinyl top, clean the windshield with mineral spirits.
